Rita Ora returns to music with new track Your Song!

Rita Ora has announced that she will finally return to the music fold with a new single titled Your Song – which was penned by super songwriter Ed Sheeran.

Considering it’s been written by the multi-platinum selling Divide creator, it’s no doubt got the word ‘hit’ written all over it. It’s the first single to be released from Ora’s untitled, forthcoming album, which is set for release for May 26. ‘I’m so excited to share that my new single Your Song is coming on May 26,’ Rita, 26, shared on Instagram. ‘Can’t wait for you guys to hear it!’ The singer also teased her collaboration with Ed a few weeks ago, sharing a short video of the two working and listening to music together.

Rita’s new music follows her a turbulent few years that saw her sign a new record deal with Atlantic Records after suing her previous label, Jay Z’s Roc Nation, for ‘orphaning’ her in an unfair contract.

?? 'Your Song' 26.05.17 ??sooooo excited!

Accepting the honour, Rita said: ‘I will wear the title of honorary ambassador with great pride and responsibility.

‘I grew up in Britain, a country which has given me so much for which I’m grateful. But I will always have a special place in my heart for Kosovo, my country of birth.

‘I’m lucky I’m in a position to travel the world and bring more awareness to my country of birth and let the rest of the world know what a beautiful country it is and how friendly the people are.’

The president went on to say: ‘Rita embodies all what we are about as a nation. What we have been through and what we can achieve when given the chance.
‘Beyond her talent and success that makes us all proud we are most thankful that she’s a Kosovo girl that is proud of her roots, the best bridge between Kosovo, the country she was born in and Britain, the country she now calls home.’

Rita Ora to record Band Aid 30 charity single

Rita Ora will be available to take part in the recording of Band Aid 30, an updated version of ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ in support of the fight against Ebola.

Sir Bob Geldof announced yesterday (November 10) that the likes of Coldplay, One Direction, Sam Smith, Elbow, Jessie Ware, Bono, Foals and more will record the charity single, marking the 30th anniversary of the original Band Aid track.

Ora had been originally on board with the project, but Geldof indicated that she was unavailable to record the song at a London studio on Saturday (November 15) as she will be recording an episode of BBC 1 talent show The Voice.

Now, however, a BBC spokesperson has told Digital Spy that Ora will indeed be free to take part.

“The BBC is more than happy for Rita to take part in the single and The Voice production team is liaising with her management to work around a major diary clash,” they say.

Geldof himself had previously urged the BBC to free Ora up for the event, set to be recorded this coming Saturday (November 15).
